Contractor's Choice, this commercial-grade filter set is composed of five stages:

1. The first stage is a multi-layer 5-micron sediment filter that offers greater dirt-holding capacity and extended service life. It measures 2.5" in diameter and 9.84" in length, fitting standard 10" filter housing canisters. Made of pure polypropylene and conforming to ISO 9001:2000 manufacturing standards, this filter removes sediment, dirt, sand, and rust, and should be replaced every 12 months.

2. The second and third stages are activated coconut shell carbon blocks, offering extra capacity. With a 5-micron rating, they have a chlorine reduction capacity of 6,000 gallons or an RO water usage capacity of 2,000 gallons. Measuring 2.75" in diameter and 9.84" in length, these activated carbon block filters remove sediment, chlorine, chloramines, taste, odor, THM, VOC, pesticides, herbicides, and turbidity. They should be replaced every 12 to 18 months.

3. The fourth stage is a TFC-100 RO membrane, similar to the MEM-90 standard size, designed to fit the same membrane housings. Measuring 1.75" in diameter, 2" in diameter with a seal, and 11.74" in length, it is a high-quality membrane material sourced from a USA manufacturer. With a 95% rejection rate and an improved structure for greater efficiency and extended service life, this membrane provides consistent performance and should be replaced every 3 to 5 years.

4. The fifth and final stage is an inline carbon filter, 2" in diameter and 10" in length, with coconut shell activated carbon for final polishing and improving water taste. Featuring 1/4" NPT inlet/outlet and 1/4" quick connect fittings, this filter improves taste and removes odor, and should be replaced every 12 months.
